Do we participate with others? No, your group will only be partnered with people from your group. Partners will have their own cells but will be clustered together as a group.
What is the minimum number of people required in my booking? On Fridays and Sundays there is a minimum of four people per group. On Satrudays there is a minimum of two people per group
Do we have to wear handcuffs? No, These are an option for people who want the extra challenge (no extra cost).
Will we need ID? If you are aged under 25 years we recommend bringing your ID with you.
What if we are under 18? Currently Persons under 18 cannot partake in this activity. We look forward to opening this activity to persons aged 16 and over. We appreciate your patience whilst we work towards achieving this.
Will we be grouped with strangers? You will not be in the same cell as others. However at the Old Geelong Gaol there may be other groups also competing in other cells at the same time as you.
Will we hear other people? At the Old Geelong Gaol, the cell walls are thick stone brick so you will not hear others. At The Old Paper Mills, you will be able to see and hear your other team members.
What if we get stuck? You may ask the security guard for help.
Are we actually locked in? You are locked in a cell but you can get out at any time.
Can we take mobile phones? You may bring your mobile phone to the event. You may use your phone inside the prison but not while in the cells. No photos of the cells are permitted at anytime.
Is it claustrophobic? We welcome anyone wishing to preview the site to contact us and arrange an inspection prior to booking.
Is it safe? The activity, props and cells have all been tested and made safe.
However we do remind people that the venue itself is an old heritage building. We encourage people to be vigilant when moving about and using doors.
What should I wear? Casual and comfortable is best. Please note at The Mills stairwell access is required so we recommend no high heels, sandals or thongs. What if I arrive late? We will commence at your start time. If you arrive before the end of the ten-minute briefing you can join in and we will brief you in-game. After the ten-minute briefing the entry doors are shut and locked.
Souvenir Photo Participants are welcome to a souvenir photo. These photos are optional.
Do we need a reservation? Yes. The experience is by appointment only.
Do you take cash? No - all our reservations are handled online.
Will we be in the dark? No - each room is lit by a fluorescent globe that remains on at all times.
Are there toilets? Yes - there are public toilets available. NOTE: We do not control the upkeep of these facilities.
Can we compete? Yes, however we encourage groups to be respectful of all those participating.
How do I cancel? You may cancel using a link in your confirmation email or by contacting us. Cancellations with 48 hours notice receive a full refund. Inside 48 hours will not receive a refund, unless at the discretion of management.
Can I change or transfer my booking? Bookings cannot be transferred. Changes can be made provided the original person remains on the booking. Please notify us of any changes to your booking.
Can I add extra people? Yes - please contact us to arrange.
What if someone cannot make it? Please notify us in advance so that we can make any necessary arrangements.
When should we arrive? You should aim to arrive at the venue 5-10 minutes early but no earlier than 15 minutes.
Is there secure storage? We encourage participants to bring their valuables with them.
Can we bring food and drink? No food or drink allowed anywhere inside the Gaol or Mills. Bottled water is okay.

Is there a smoking area? The entire venue is smoke free.
Can we drink alcohol beforehand? The event is alcohol free (.00) Any person suspected of having consumed alcohol will be refused entry.
Is there wheelchair access? There is wheelchair access to the area however the Cell doors are not wide enough. If you are attending with a person in a wheelchair please contact us in advance so we can provide options.
Do we hand out Donations to Clubs or Charities? In place of donations we offer the opportunity for you to host a fundraiser event with us, for which we donate a portion of the proceeds back to you.
